Athirapally village is famous with its majestic waterfalls. This evergreen village is a haven for nature lovers who want to soak in beauty and tranquility. It was a deep forest until some parts of village was granted to ex-military families by government in 1959 and they were the first occupants in this area after tribes. Athirappilly comes under Grama Panchayath with 489.00 km2 area in Chalakudy Taluk, Thrissur district in Kerala, India. The Athirappilly Falls is located 1000ft above sea level on the Chalakudy river, at the entrance to the Sholayar ranges of the Western Ghats, Athirappalli is a scenic combination of forests and little streams. Falling from a height of 80 feet, this is often one among the most important waterfalls within the state. The forest area within the range of Athirapilly-Vazhachal have many endangered and endemic species of flora and fauna are found.
The five kilometers ride between Athirapally to Vazhachal through deep forest is interesting. Blessed by wild and refreshing beauty, it is the perfect spot to relax and rejuvenate at Vazhachal. Vazhachal falls is a great scenic place in an area of forests, where water furry has become a beauty to behold. While visiting athirapally, you must explore Ezhattumugham Prakriti Gramam, which lies on the banks of Periyar river deep inside of palm plantations.

Tour Itinerary
Day 01:
Pick up from Cochin Airport/Alwaye Railway Station
Check in into a hotel and the rest of the day in the hotel
Day 02:
Morning 08;30 breakfast at hotel. After breakfast by 09
AM you will be guided to Athirapally waterfalls. Athirapally is the
biggest and most beautiful waterfalls in Kerala. After exploring
here, we will go to Vazhachal area to see the waterfalls and
experience the deep forest. After lunch at Athirapally we will move
to Malakkappara to explore the deep forest and tea gardens.
Once we are done at Malakkappara we will be back to the hotel
by 6 Pm.
Day 03:
Breakfast at hotel by 08:30. And sight-seeing will be starting from
09:00 Am. The guide will come to the hotel lobby and take you to
second day activities.
Morning journey to neighboring village called Kodanad which is
well known for its Elephant training center and St Thomas Mount.
First, we will visit Abhayranyam-the orphanage for wild. Here
specially you can see elephants and morning time you can see
them taking a shower at Periyar river. After that we will go to
Paniyeli poru- here the Periyar river become more beautiful. In
summer you can get showered in river water. After lunch we can
go to Chendamangalam where you can see the ancient Kerala
architecture and Jews Synagogue.
Day 04:
Breakfast at hotel 8:30 and leisure time until checkout. Airport drop by 12 PM
